Coach Teri is a graduate of Albany High School (class of 1980), where she played Varsity Basketball. She attended Merritt College where she also played basketball. An Honorable Discharge from US Air Force Teri was stationed at Bitburg Airbase in Germany as a Command Post Controller launching alert status F-15 fighter jets and playing basketball for the Air Tactical Command in Germany competing against other Armed Forces players and European professionals. Committed to developing and preparing young women for academic and collegiate success, Teri believes women’s sport has the same potential for greatness and success in media exposure and free market competition that men’ sports has achieved. Studies have proven that girls who participate in sports are more likely to have an interest in going to college, to take risks, and to be their own person making decisions for themselves. In 1994, 63 percent of female high school graduates aged 16 - 24 were enrolled in college, compared to 43 percent in 1973. Today more than 100,000 women participate in intercollegiate sports. With hard work, dedication and commitment every girl has the potential to be part of that statistic – AIM HGH. Teri’s coaching resume reads as such (Jr High/High School/College) (AAU) |
