Leroy began coaching basketball in 1993 while a student at UC Davis. Leroy Hurt has over 20 years of experience in the sport of basketball as a player, referee and coach. He has coached girl’s basketball at the Jr. High, High School and Jr. College levels. His 1st coaching position was the Girls and Boys 8th grade Teams at Emerson Jr. HS in Davis, CA. It was there that Leroy developed a passion for coaching and teaching youth the nuisances of the game of basketball. Leroy has always felt that winning and achieving success as a coach is great, but watching a player’s develop is better. “Many people want to coach and enjoy quality basketball at a high level, but the best coaches are needed at the younger levels to prepare kids for high school and college level competition…….”. A player’s fundamentals come 1st with the CA Ballaz AAU program. A player must know and understand the game to go to the next level. With this understanding and ACADEMIC SUCCESS, one can reach the goal of playing collegiate basketball. Leroy’s primary goals for a parent and player who choose to join the CA Ballaz are: individual HS/College level training, teaching of the fundamentals of basketball and elite basketball competition. Leroy’s coaching resume reads as such: (Jr. High/High School/College) (AAU) |
